Silent Clowns Film Series

Silent Clowns Celebrates Harry Langdon, King of the Forgotten Clowns

Saturday, February 11 | 2:30 PM | Library for the Performing Arts
The Silent Clowns film series returns in the new year with a celebration of Harry Langdon and a screening of his 1926 film Tramp, Tramp, Tramp. Forgotten for many years, Langdon’s career blazed brightly until 1928, and today he’s considered one of the era’s most original clowns. Tramp, Tramp, Tramp was the first film for his own company and co-starred a young Joan Crawford as Harry’s love interest. Join Silent Clowns with this celebration of Langdon alongside live piano accompaniment by MoMA’s Ben Model and an introduction and Q&A by film historians Model and Steve Massa.
