Last night, the Brooklyn Art Haus was the stage for a sensational performance by The Eccentric Bear Theater Company, as they unleashed their electrifying ‘Eccentric Variety Show’ with a spirited Rocky Horror Show theme. The evening was nothing short of a thrilling Halloween spectacle, featuring a lineup of exceptionally gifted performers.
Leading the way was the affable and charismatic host, Isaac Young, who set the tone for a night of unparalleled entertainment.
Talented burlesquer and self-described “Commie Slut” Ann Arky titillated the audience with their rendition of “In My Own Way” from Rocky Horror’s oft-forgotten sequel Shock Treatment
The Oystermen (With Stanley on guitar/harmonica and Eddie Joe on trumpet) brought the house down with their old-school original songs, plus a haunting rendition of “Saint James Infirmary”
Comedian Ali Levin brought her “Sexy Bernie Sanders” act. With suit and tie, bald wig, and fishnets, Levin’s lovingly spot-on impersonation of the beloved Senator (with a musical number) was a highlight of the evening
House pianist Richard Lowenburg brought the house down with his virtuosic turn on the keys. Lowenburg is a master improviser, moving seamlessly between lounge jazz, pop ballad, rock and roll, and the occasional show tune.
Phoenix Fucktoy’s Rocky Horror-inspired act beautifully combined sideshow gross-out with skillful burlesque, as they re-clothed themself with little more than a yard of fabric and a staple gun.
The award-winning James Koroni brought a number of hysterical characters to the Eccentric Cabaret stage, including an anal boulder and a devil-may-care angel. Deftly switching between props and costumes, each new character had us laughing harder than the last.
MC Isaac Young bids a heartfelt farewell to the audience, sending them off into the creatively haunted Halloween night in Brooklyn. 🎃🌃
