Vaudevisuals interview with Jennifer Miller

Dick Zigun’s rock-opera ‘Bloody Brains in a Jukebox‘ is being directed by none other than Circus Amok’s own Jennifer Miller. I sat down with her at Coney Island USA and ask about the upcoming show and her directing of it.

Bloody Brains in a JukeBox is a rock opera, with a libretto by Dick D. Zigun, music by Nikos Brisco, and direction by Circus Amok’s Ethyl Eichelberger Award-winning Jennifer Miller. In this sung-through and psychedelic sci-fi satire, characters resembling Sidney Poitier, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Coogan, and Jayne Mansfield tussle with a talking, flying, brain-eating Wurlitzer Model 1100 jukebox – with results as mind-blowing and out there as anything you’ve ever seen at the sideshow.

Spiderwoman Theater (Muriel Miguel & Gloria Miguel) had some stories to tell.

In the other space – Neilma Sidner Theatre – I walked in on Cornelius Loy playing the theremin.

Murray Hill was on hand hob-nobbing with the crowd in the hallway.

Lois Weaver and Holly Hughes having a drink together.

Hanging out near the bar before the performance was Patti Spliff.

James Godwin (performing in the Neilma Sidney Theater) and Gary Ray.

The sound and lighting crew did a great job running the shows in both theaters.

The upcoming shows already scheduled go here!

PS122 – AVANT GARDE ARAMA – June 17th, 2011 – Old coming into the NEW!

I am thinking about the NEW PS122 and remembering the old PS122.

Here is a video of the last Avant-Garde-Arama performance that was presented at that site.

Here is a compilation video I made from photographs and video I shot at the Friday, June 17th AGA. It has the stills from the show embedded in the video of the finale WRECKING BALL! It was a great show. Murray Hill hosted the evening. Very Funny! The following performers were on hand to add pizazz to the night’s festivities.
Tom Murrin (the Alien Comic), Tigger, John Kelly, Lucy Sexton (the Factress), The Dazzle Dancers, Julie Atlas Muz, Hank and Cupcakes. The show finished with a accordion solo by Geo and everyone sang the Ethyl Eichelberger song ‘We Are Women Who Survive”.
In the basement was the Lori E. Seid cafe.
