Bindlestiff Open Stage Variety Show – Quarantine Edition – June 15th, 2020

Standing in front of the historic Wonder Wheel at Coney Island Keith introduces the show’s performers.

Dominque Rabideau performed a lovely skilled hat juggling act.

From the wilds of the UK Jon Udry performed a wonderful ‘juggling/striptease’ routine and then a charming teacup and teabag juggling routine.

Ermiyas Muluken performed a feat of balance and then juggled clubs while being 4 levels up on a rolla-bolla.

The performers in this show would usually be on stage getting a nice salary for their act but due to the ‘shut down’ they are here for your entertainment. Please consider donating at the options listed above!

Drew Nugent played a song on the piano and performed with the cute little teacup and mouthpiece. (A unique instrument for sure!)

Magic Brian and Tyler Fyre perform the ‘human blockhead‘ routine together online!

Brian and Tyler play some ‘technical wizardry’ in their act!

They proceeded to take the ‘blockhead’ once step further using an electric drill!

Keith attempts the ‘exquisite failure’ routine with the apple and knife. Watch next week because he ‘failed’ this time again. (this time he had his shoes on!)

Stephanie Monseu talks to the audience about ‘giving a hand’ in making the show better!

Kelsey Strauch performs her delightfully funny ‘long arms’ dance routine.

David Darwin requested a volunteer (virtually) and had her projected on his wooden wall pretending to be ‘walking dead’ and threw his knives at the wooden wall. Wild!

In this segment of “Ask Hovey”, Hovey Burgess tells the history of the ‘Wild West Show‘ and how it began with the plainsman “Buffalo Bill Cody“.

Salih Mahammed performed a very skilled juggling act with some props.

Stephanie Morphett-Tepp (Flying Brain) performs a traditional hair hanging act.

The performers take the ‘virtual’ curtain call.

Watch the show next Monday at 7:30pm – Different Acts Every Week!

Vaudevisuals interview with Kate Ladenheim & Cecilia Lynn-Jacobs

MAGNUM OPUS: A Retrospective – the culminating performance of ‘Oh, Celine’.

In 2018, The People Movers’ choreographer and artistic director Kate Ladenheim and performer–designer Cecilia Lynn-Jacobs devised a collaborative project titled OH, CELINE and its heroine, Celine (née De La Croix). This fictional Brooklyn-based avant-garde dancer was conceived as a hilarious yet sincere caricature of a downtown artist. Through a sequence of events – sometimes harrowing, sometimes funny – the clueless New Age-y diva evolved into a provocative, Borat-like figure through whom her creators set to unmask the power structures in the contemporary art scene and our society at large. Over the last few months, Celine’s experiences unveiled through a long series of disarmingly pretentious social media posts, a mystifying art film, and surprising live appearances — all of which inspired unexpected reactions from the audiences. Now, Landenheim and Lynn-Jacobs present a look at their heroine’s journey in MAGNUM OPUS: A Retrospective, a multidisciplinary evening of solo performance combining theater, dance, and scenic installation, presented by Brooklyn Studios for Dance.

Thursday, April 11, 2019 – 8:00pm daily through April 14, 2019

“Angela Delfini Explains It All For You: A ¾-Woman Show” – NY Clown Theater Festival 2018

“Amazing talent” — La Stampa (Torino, Italy)Angela begins the show by ‘explaining it all’ to the audience.

Her ‘alter-ego’ has some issues with the ‘theory’ of ‘explain it all’.

Utilizing her skills in acrobatics, dance, clown and aerial Angela performed an amazing show for the audience.

Angela created a myriad of characters on stage.

Resorting to reading a book on “Clowns‘ she begins another episode in the show.

Angela brings a real moment to her performance.

A show definitely worth seeing! Angela has so many wonderful skills and her acting is terrific!

Tuesday, September 11 @ 7pm
Sunday, September 23 @ 2pm

Here is a link to an interview Vaudevisuals did a week ago with Angela.

I have enjoyed watching Christina and Seth perform for many years. In fact, many of those times it was behind my camera documenting them either solo or together. I recently was so moved by their new show “Airplay” that I had to find out more about their work process and their lives. Here is my interview with Acrobuffos!
