Glitter Gutter @ The Slipper Room – August 17, 2016

The Slipper Room is a great performance space! Like a 'speakeasy' in the Lower East Side. Beautifully decorated and intimate as well. Most of the shows there are of a 'burlesque' nature. I was there on Wednesday and photographed the 'variety acts' since this blog is all about 'eccentric variety'. Mel Frye (James Habacker) hosts the show Glitter Gutter every Wednesday evening at 10 pm. Mel Frye - the host is a rather eccentric character that proclaims to be driven around in a limo with a chauffeur. Ellie Continue reading...

‘Can Can’ in the Pike Street Market, Seattle

While traveling in Seattle for the 4th of July weekend I was walking through the Pike Street Market. I came across a young man handing out postcards and 'talking' people into going into the "Can Can" show that was housed in this 'speakeasy' type basement theater. My wife and I went in and discovered a joyous, funny, charming and delightful show. The 60 seat underground theater has charm and the show was themed with a Seattle 'history lesson'. It was a blast! CAN CAN IN THE PIKE STREET MARKET According Continue reading...

‘Silent Fantasies’ – A Clown show with Mark Stolzenberg and Vivian Belmont

This is a flyer created for the clown show "Silent Fantasies". Created and performed by Mark Stolzenberg and Vivian Belmont. The show had a good promo. Vivian Belmont billed herself as "a mime from France" and Mark Stolzenberg billed himself as "a clown from Brooklyn". I did the photograph in a studio on a cyclorama. The background was entirely white, so it was easy to use as a 'graphic'. Continue reading...
