The Bushwick Book Club gathered at The Howl Happpening Gallery on East First Street for another evening of music inspired by literature. Founded in 2009 by accordionist/singer/composer Susan Hwang, the club brings together musicians and composers to create original songs based on a selected book. December’s chosen work was THE RETURN OF THE LIGHT: Twelve Tales from Around the World for the Winter Solstice by Carolyn McVickar Edwards.
Performers at this event included: Charlie Nieland, Jessie Kilguss with Kirk Schoener, Patrick Redmond, Heather Litteer, Lianne Smith, Chris Rael, Watoku Ueno, Isaac Gerard, Ray Brown, Ellie Bisker with Heather Cole, Kanami Kusajima, Stephanie Larriere, Timothy Dark, and Susan Hwang.
